CITY SIGHTSEEING
Enjoy a relaxing panoramic coach drive through the modern town of Rhodes and discover the fantastic view from the highest spot of the city, the Monte Smith. You’ll see a great part of the western shore and of the town lying under you and you’ll distinguish the Turkish coast opposite.

On Monte Smith are also located the Acropolis of Ancient Rhodes, the Temple of Apollo, the Stadium and the Ancient Theater. Don’t miss a walk among these remains of ancient civilization!

The excursion continues by coach along the ramparts of the Old Town and will give you the opportunity for terrific views over the harbor, the fortifications and a mixture of churches and mosques. While strolling through the pebbled narrow streets of the Old Town, you will suddenly feel carried back to the Middle Ages.
The most beautiful part is composed by the Grand Master’s Palace, the Knight’s Inns of seven different nationalities in the very well-known Street of the Knights, the Knights’ Hospital and the Archeological Museum, which contains a rich collection of ancient remains mainly found in Kameiros; all buildings are very well preserved and were built by the Order of the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem in the 12th century. These extraordinary architectural examples will give you the impression that you might at any time meet with a knight on its horse…

LINDOS
After a drive along the eastern coast of the island, leaving behind you the villages of Afandou, Archangelos,Malona and Massari, you’ll finally reach Lindos, the most picturesque white Greek village you could ever imagine. All houses have been built in the same style and are overlooked by a roc on which stands the Acropolis. You can climb up to the Acropolis by foot or on a donkey’s back.

On the Acropolis, you will discover the ruins of the Temple of Lindia Athena. Enjoy the amazing view on the small St. Paul’s port and the glittering white village of Lindos below. On your way down from the Acropolis, take a look at the 13th century church and enjoy strolling in the narrow shady streets. The sandy beach beneath the village may invite you for a nice swim. On your way to Lindos or coming back from it, a visit of a hand-made pottery workshop will give you the opportunity of purchasing some real traditional souvenirs.

FILERIMOS, KAMIROS, BUTTERFLIES
A drive along the western coast of the island and through the village of Trianta will bring you to Mount Filerimos, where you will discover the ruins of the Temple of Athena and Zeus. The Byzantine church rebuilt by the Knights and with frescoes from the 14th century A.D. is a real jewel.

Enjoy a walk in the shade of the high trees and follow the “Way of the Cross” until the big white cross, from which the panoramic view over the plain of Trianta and the international airport is amazing.Not less interesting is the Valley of Butterflies, a beautiful thickly wooded gorge, spanned with rustic bridges and streams. The valley is truly filled with thousands of butterflies from June to September.Ancient Kamiros is one of the most outstanding archaeological sites in Greece. You can still see today an extensive number of buildings and monuments dating from the Hellenistic period and walk through the narrow streets of the settlement.

ISLAND TOUR
The tour begins with a drive along the east coast of the island through Faliraki and Afandou. It is worth having a small walk through the village Archangelos, the second largest of Rhodes, in order to admire its old houses.

Of course, you shouldn’t miss the orange and lemon gardens of the villages Malona and Massari! In Genadi, further down in the south, starts the path that crosses the island from east to west and brings you to the castle of Monolithos which was built by the Knights. The view over the islands opposite is unique! Enjoy a tasty Greek meal in the village of Embona near the highest mountain of Rhodes, Ataviros, and try several wines of the region in its wine cellar Emery. On the way back you’ll follow the west coast. The island tour is the perfect way to learn a lot about Greek traditions and way of life. The variety of the landscapes and the quite villages of the island will leave you with everlasting memories…

VILLAGE PARTY
Enjoy a drive to the village of Pastida or Afandou, where you will be free to visit some of the old houses and the church.

Greek specialties and an unlimited amount of local wine (red and white) will be offered to you in the big Taverna (restaurant) of the village.During dinner a group of dancers wearing Greek traditional costumes will show you the traditional folklore dances and you will be taught how to dance the Sirtaki. Don’t hesitate! The villagers are expecting you to stand up and participate!

It’s a great opportunity for you to practice the steps, even if they are not as easy as they seem at first. Don’t miss this Greek traditional evening! You’ll enjoy it!
