Daily Cruises

Symi and Panormitis Daily Cruise
The small island of Symi lies on the north of Rhodes and is the most picturesque one of the Dodecanese group. After a two hour cruise along the Turkish coast, your first acquaintance with Symi will be extraordinary: you will discover an island that lies under the protection of Unesco, whose houses are all built and restored with the same architectural style and painted in various colours. The village’s narrow streets are worth a stroll and will fascinate you.

Symi is also the island of natural sponges. You can purchase one to use at home in your bathroom and learn how difficult it was for divers to reach these sponges in the past.

In the afternoon the boat will bring you to the other side of the island where the big Panormitis Monastery overlooks the bay. It is dedicated to the Archangel Michael and is an important place of pilgrimage for Greek people.

Kos Daily Cruise
Kos or Cos is a Greek island in the south Sporades group of the Dodecanese, next to the Gulf of Gökova/Cos. The island measures 40 kilometres (25 mi) by 8 kilometres (5.0 mi), and is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from the coast of Bodrum, Turkey, and the ancient region of Caria. The island has a population of 34 thousand people.

Kos Island was the home of Hippocrates, the “father” of modern medicine, who was worshipping Asclepios, the god of medicine. The ancient Asklepios Hospital can still be seen. Kos is a pretty island with many relics of its ancient and medieval periods. Don’t miss visiting the famous Plane – Tree of Hippocrates and have a walk in the Old Town. Marmaris Daily Cruise
One Day Marmaris in Turkey
The Turkish coast is just a few kilometers far from Rhodes. You can distinguish it from the west coast of the island. It will take you only one hour by boat to travel to Marmaris, but you will suddenly feel as if you had entered a completely different world: the numerous mosques, the exotic shops in the bazaar and the beautiful wooden boats anchored in the marina are perfumes from the Orient.

The town of Marmaris is situated on an amazing fjord – like bay and surrounded by green mountains. Admire the view from its medieval castle on the harbour and the old part of the town with its narrow streets and picturesque houses. Enjoy shopping in the roofed bazaar and learn everything about the art of bargaining. A day in another country, on another continent, in another world…

Transportation in Marmaris
Cheapest way of getting around is using the dolmus minibuses. These are 11 seaters which travel the main road in Marmaris and Icmeler, the neighbouring resort. The fee is 1.50 YTL anywhere in Marmaris and 2.00 YTL between Icmeler and Marmaris. Marmaris dolmuses have a green band across them and orange for Icmeler. Other dolmus services serve Armutalan which is a suburb of Marmaris. The Armutalan dolmus has a blue band across them.
You can pick them up from the side of the road by hailing for them and they will stop wherever you want on the route. Other buses are frequently available and compete with dolmus services. They are slightly cheaper and are council owned buses which are similar in concept but slightly larger than dolmus minibuses.
Taxis are also available on the meter or arranging prices up front but are expensive.

A few things not to miss:
Marmaris Castle – Constructed by the Ionians, this small castle was repaired during the time of Alexander the Great. It was again widened and repaired by Suleyman the Magnificent in 1522. After restorations lasting 10 years the castle was opened as a museum in 1991. It features seven galleries, containing collections of archaeological, historical, ethnographic and nautical exhibits.

Loryma (Bozukkale) – By far the most impressive structure in the settlement is the well-preserved reinforcement at the bay at Burunbasi. Nine rectangular towers, which are made from smooth rock-cut masonry, were built at the edge of Rhodes Island. Disappointingly today, only the balcony tower at the northern end can still be seen.

Tashan and Kemerli Bridge – Constructed by Suleyman the Magnificent, the bridge, which is 10km along the Mugla road in the Iskelebasi region has arched bridges built from stone and brick. A definite must see for tourists.

Marmaris Shopping
Marmaris is a shopper’s dream – you can literally shop untill you drop! Located in the heart of the Ottoman castle, is the Carsi Market, where you’ll find original, quality and value for money goods. It is open 7 days a week and on Sunday’s you can expect to find the entire market (over 200 shops, including a flea market) packed to the brim. Another market which is well worth checking out is the Marmaris Village Market, also known as the Thursday Market, where you will find fresh fruit and vegetables, fabrics and clothes. The market is held in G. Mustafa Muglali Caddesi and is open on Thursdays.
